Founded by Zoë Foster Blake, Go-To is a skincare brand that is all made in Australia using premium ingredients to make looking after your skin fun. When they came to EINWICK with a fun idea of creating '90s-style visual assets to celebrate their 11th birthday campaign and the launch of their newest product, Lip Hero, we landed on the concept of producing hand-drawn animations integrated with live-action filming, along with similarly styled photography for their social platforms, website, and in-store displays at MECCA stores across Australia.
The main challenge for both Einwick and Go-To was working within a tight timeline, less than a month, to manage production design, casting, live-action filming, photography, animation, and video editing simultaneously, while ensuring that all campaign assets would be delivered on time for the launch day. Another key consideration was aligning the production design with Go-To’s offline events and the overall campaign look and feel.
After the story had been set - one main character applying the new Lip Hero, then poof! she’s whisked away into a dreamy, animated world where she meets three other characters - we kicked off two parallel workflows: building a custom in-studio set for live-action filming and photography, and creating animation characters.
We reached out to CHOP STUDIO to create the hand-drawn animation in line with the '90s style, and the results were fantastic, working smoothly alongside the live-action footage with talent. The photography component required creative exploration as well, with the core task being to create this dreamy environment in real time using real products and practical assets.
Einwick ended up delivering a suite of video assets, including a hero video and four individual cutdowns, along with a package of stills.
